General Information of Misiones |

Located in the northeast end of the country, it is part of the Mesopotámica Argentina.
The limits of Misiones are to the north and the east with Brazil; to the south, with this same country; to the Southwest, with Corrientes; and to the west, with Paraguay. The extreme points are: to the north, 25º 30' of south latitude, to the south, 28º 10´ of south latitude, to the east, 53º "38´'52" of longitude west, more oriental point of the province and of the country in their emerged American portion; to the west, 56º 3' of longitude west. |

Misiones are divided administratively in 17 departments. It has a surface of 29,801 km2.
In 1991 their population belonged to 965.522 inhabitants: 484.323 males and 481.199 women.. The capital city is Posadas.
Other important cities are Oberá, Apostóles, Eldorado, Puerto Iguazú and Leandro N. Alem. |
