Parona leatherjacket     (Parona signata)

It is an endemic inhabitant of the Atlantic southwestern coast and is it in in all the coast of Argentina , part of Brazil , until the Strait of Magellan and the coasts of the Malvinas Islands .

It has the high body and very compressed laterally, in form of rhombus and place setting of small grudges. Of dark shining but blue color silver-plated in the back. The lateral line runs from opérculo in its part superior rising to the height of the pectoral fin and continues zizagueando to the beginning of the dorsal fin. It finishes soon going in line straight by means of the lateral ones. It has a quite great mouth, directed in angle upwards and a snout a little flattened. The fins are of gray color. It has two dorsal fins, first with few short thorns and second one rises in the high part but of the body shortening soon his radii in reduction towards the later part of the body. The anal fin is almost symmetrical to the second ridge but a little but long. It is an aggressive pregiver of habits pelágico - demersales. It is fed on small fish of several species, mainly anchoítas. Also it consumes some pulpy and they do not scorn crustaceans. It is fished embarked and it admitted artificial decoys. In the Buenosairean coasts January and February are the optimal months of capture. This species even fishes with the modality "fly", for which the fishermen identify the places of hunting of these fish revealed by the concentration of birds ictiófagas that take advantage of the rest secondarily. From this the fishing in surface can be unforgettable.
